Jeanne Carmen is ranked number 3 on BUZZTUBE’S list of Frank Sinatra’s lovers, wives, and girlfriends
Carmen may have been considered a B-List actress, but the stunning pin-up model managed to bag Frank Sinatra. She must have been something special. Apparently, Frank even proposed to her, but she turned him down because he would only agree to an open marriage.
The Monster of Piedras Blancas is finally released on Blue-ray DVD by Olive films on September 13, 2016
Beheadings! Bosoms! Blood! Welcome to the dark side of the 1950s. Made for a mere $29000 in 1959, The Monster of Piedras Blancas looks like a million bucks in high-definition in 2016. Down with the fuzz. We want clarity in our Creature Features and Olive Films absolutely delivers.
“…victims of the guillotine.” That is one medical specialist’s opinion of the freak decapitations happening at the onset of The Monster of Piedras Blancas. Released independently in 1959, this black-and-white horror film is a slice of b-grade deliciousness. It is a knock off of The Creature from the Black Lagoon of course, but the film is also an immortal influence upon more than one of today’s filmmakers. This week, thanks to a fine remastering job by Olive Films, it is granted new life in high-definition.
Jeanne became known as “Queen of the B Movies”, that title was used by E! Television on their series E! The True Hollywood Story in 1998. It was the first widespread coverage on media where Jeanne spoke about her “dangerously close friendship with Marilyn Monroe and The Kennedys”. Jeanne had told this writer that after Monroe’s death she was warned her to leave Hollywood or she’s be leaving in a box like Monroe. It was Chicago mobster Johnny Rosselli who was working with Chicago Mob Boss Sam Giancana. Carmen heeded his advice, packed up all of her belongings and boxed up her career, the films, magazines, glamour photos and left California for a quiet life in Scottsdale, Arizona. She married and had three children along the way. It was her son Brandon and his curiosity while going through boxes that he learned of his mother’s Hollywood career.
